Nevin Tuna Erönde

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Nevin Tuna Erönde (b. 1974, Denmark) is a sound artist, filmmaker and writer whose work examines the underlying narratives that connect us across cultures and time. She graduated from the University of Salford with a B.Sc. in Music, Acoustics & Recording in 2003 and worked as a sound designer in the computer game industry from 2006–2016.

Erönde's multidisciplinary practice spans sound, language, image, design, and sculpture, exploring themes of intersectionality, cultural memory, and the transformative power of narrative. Growing up with multiple cultures, she learned early that stories are how we remember our past and shape our future. Her work seeks beauty as revelation and truth - a light that illuminates what exists in the darkness.

Current projects include a novel told through the fragmented consciousness of a child, and Sema, an audiovisual dance performance that grew out of female prayers.

WHY I CREATE

I create to remember what connects us - to excavate the roots and rivers that run beneath our individual stories. My work moves across languages, forms, and senses because lived experience doesn't fit into single categories. I seek beauty as revelation and truth - as light that makes visible what was always there in the darkness.
