Game Girl Workshop (2010-2016)
As co-founder and co-creator of Game Girl Workshop, I developed the pedagogical framework, curriculum design, and educational architecture for teaching girls and young women to create computer games.
The focus of the workshop was to facilitate a safe space for girls and young women to create computer games based on their own stories and experiences.
The concept emerged from a deep curiosity:
If we teach young girls the tools to create computer games, what stories would they tell?
Having worked as a sound designer in the computer games industry, I wanted to challenge the lack of diversity in game narratives and storytelling within the medium.
Game Girl Workshop focused on deep storytelling and creative expression through sound, game design, and graphics - guiding participants from paper concepts to digital prototypes.
Between 2010 and 2016, we ran workshops across four countries:
